FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- What is Virgin Hair?
- The term virgin hair means that the hair is 100% natural. It has not been permed, dyed, colored, bleached, or chemically processed in any way.
- What does term “Remy” mean?
- Remy hair is considered to be the finest quality of human hair. The term “Remy” means all the hair cuticles are healthy, intact, and all cuticles flow in the same direction from the root to the tip. Remy hair is typically collected directly from a woman’s head, and as it is cut it is held in a ponytail to ensure no hair strands fall to the floor. Remy hair will also last longer than non-Remy hair. Therefore, it can be reused, flat ironed, and colored.
- How is it measured?
- The straight hair textures are measured by their length.
- The wavy and curly textures are measure by pulling the hair straight.
- Can the hair be straightened or curled?
- Yes, it is 100% human hair. You can curl and straighten the hair as desired.
- Can I color my new hair?
- Yes, you can color our hair. Our hair is premium quality 100% virgin Remy hair. Therefore, it can handle the coloring process very well.
- Note: We suggest that you consult a professional if you wish to color your new hair.
- Does this hair shed?
- Minimally, no hair is absolutely perfect (Any company who states this phrase, as sales pitch is not being honest. Our company is an honest supplier). You may see a few strands here or there, nothing troubling. The most effective way to avoid shedding is by sealing the wefts, and you or your professional hairstylist should do this for you before installing tracks.
- How do I seal the weft?
- Sealing the weft is very important, and can be a bit tedious. Without getting it on the hair, apply the sealant on one side of the weft. Allow it to dry and then repeat this process on the other side. If you cut the track, make sure to apply sealer to end of the track (Cutting the tracks promotes shedding. We advise you to research on YouTube for weft sealing tutorials). We advise letting professional stylist perform this task. The weft can be sealed with Her Hair Company Weft Sealer, Fray Block, or Aleene’s Fabric Fusion; can be purchased at any crafts store or Wal-Mart.
- What does co-wash mean?
- Co-washing: also known, as conditioner washing, is a way to clean the hair without the use of shampoo. Washing your hair with conditioner, or co-washing is often considered very good for curly hair. Co-washing consists of cleansing the hair with a moisturizing conditioner.
- How much hair do I need to order?
- For a full sew in weave we recommend buy 2-3 packs of hair. For hair over 16”, we recommend ordering 3-4 packs of hair. Remember: Longer hair equals shorter weft widths. If you desire a weave with a lot of volume, you will need 3 for 4 packs of hair.
